About the DTG BATTLE ROYALE

After reading through several threads in the Direct to Garment section of T-Shirt Forums, a couple of things stood out to me:

  • DTG owners are a fun group of people :)
  • The DTG industry is as complex as an opera, with lots of interesting storylines
  • The results you can get from the DTG machines rely almost as much on the skills of the operator as it does the capabilities of the DTG machine they happen to be using

People visit this section of the forum for a few different reasons:

  • To research which DTG machine they should buy
  • To see how to get the best results from their machines
  • To troubleshoot with fellow machine owners about problems they may be having with their machines.

"A fun contest that lets the different DTG owners battle it out to see who can produce the best results with their machine. Who will be the DTG Battle Royale Champion?"

The Goals of the DTG BATTLE ROYALE

Our goal is to showcase the capabilities of the various DTG machines in a fun and unique way. This is not a case of manufacturers saying their machine is best and the other guys suck. We want to promote the great business owners that visit our DTG sections of the forum and give the operators of these digital machines a chance to show off their talents. Let's let the t-shirt prints do the talking!

This contest will also educate those who are researching which machine they want to invest in for their business. Current machine owners will get to see what their machines are capable of with the right combination of machine settings, RIP software, artwork tweaks, machine features, and, of course, exeperience. Hopefully this will also result in better prints for the end user!

Our Profiles

JUDGING

The entries will be judged based on 5 factors:

  • First Impressions - is the print "display ready" without pretreat stains and heat press squares

  • Sharpness of detail in the print

  • Softness of hand on the print

  • Print accuracy - (registration, trapping, no banding, even ink distribution)

  • Washability - how does the print hold up after the initial wash?

I will photograph the entries and post them to the forum so that they can be voted on anonymously by the T-ShirtForums community.

I'll take into account both my own findings from seeing the t-shirts first and and the votes from the community to declare the final winner.
